INGREDIENTS: (GF Burger Patty) [Yields 8-10 med/large patties]
2 cups beans/legumes of choice (I did half chickpea, half mung bean)
1/2 of a chopped medium onion
2 cups chopped Portobello mushrooms
1/2-3/4 cup of chickpea flour
1/4 Cup of BBQ sauce or ketchup
1 tsp each:
Salt
Pepper
Garlic
Onion powder
Smoked paprika
INSTRUCTIONS:
Saute your half onion with the mushrooms roughly chopped until onions are translucent and mushrooms have released most or all moisture. Set aside. Mash beans in a large bowl with a fork until mixture resembles mashed potatoes with a few beans still in tact or pules a few times in a food processor until coarsely combined. Once beans are mashed, add in sautéed onion and mushrooms, seasonings, bbq sauce or ketchup and flour. Mix with a rubber spatula until mixture forms a large ball and can hold shape when formed in your hand and is not sticky. If it is either too wet or dry at any point, add more sauce or flour to balance it. Form into patties and cook in a heated skillet until crisp on both sides and cooked through. Assemble your burger with toppings/condiments of choice and enjoy!
